James Shipley

Managing Partner

James has worked in the Sports Marketing business for over 20 years. In the past he has worked with corporate clients delivering sponsorship value to increase brand awareness and client acquisition. National Amateur Sports has given him the opportunity to deliver this same value to benefit and enhance amateur athletic programs. Jamie resides in Charlotte, NC with his wife Tammy and two boys, Will and James.

Eric Broadway

Managing Partner

Eric Broadway has more than 17 years of IT sales and sales management experience. Prior to joining National Amateur Sports, Eric served as Client Executive for the IBM Corporation. Prior to IBM, Eric was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for SDN Global, a broadband satellite provider. In his role at SDN Global, Eric oversaw marketing and communications efforts as well as the sales team. Eric is a graduate of NC State University and holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Eric resides in Charlotte, NC.

Roman Phifer

Director of Business Development

Roman has more than 15 years experience as a player and coach in the NFL. He was the assistant linebackers coach for the Denver Broncos and played for the New England Patriots, the New York Jets, the St. Louis Rams, and the New York Giants. where he played in 211 NFL games and made 1134 tackles, 882 were solo, 252 assisted, 29 sacks, and 11 interceptions and was a Four-time Pro Bowl Alternate. He was also part of 3 World Championships during his 4 years with the Patriots. Phifer played football and majored in history at the University of California Los Angeles and is a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Jennifer Melvin

Director of Operations

Jennifer has over 11 years of experience in business and project management. Before joining the team at National Amateur Sports, she spent 4 years at Covad Communications overseeing the technology implementation for a leading property management company at over 500 sites. She also spent several years at SDN Global as the Sales and Marketing Project Manager for satellite technology deployments. She earned her bachelor's degree from UNC-Greensboro and now resides in Charlotte with her husband Chad and their two sons, Chase and Chandler.
